Matt and Amy Baldwin have been serving as missionaries in Thailand since April 2017 and as AGWM missionaries since 2023. We’ve both had a passion for missions since before we met. Amy felt called to the nations when she was 10 years old, and specifically to Thailand when she was 14. Matt had felt called to unreached peoples since he first heard about missions shortly after being radically saved. We were married in February 2013. Our first son, Jedidiah, was born in 2016 and we moved to Thailand when he was one. Alizah and Josiah were both born in Thailand.

Our Ministry
After spending our first two and a half years in Bangkok, we felt God clearly and powerfully calling us to church planting in the South. Ask us and we’d love to share the whole story with you!

The Lord has sent us to Chumphon, one of the most unreached provinces in Thailand, where there are only 25 churches in over 730+ villages.

Our primary focus is to work with the Thailand Assemblies of God (TAG) to plant churches in areas where the church does not yet exist. Having already planted a church in Map Ammarit, we will now return to strengthen the church and see churches planted in several other key areas of focus. We do so by proclaiming, discipling, and equipping.

Proclaiming

Chumphon is one of the most unreached provinces in Thailand. In a population of 500,000 people, only about 1,000 (0.2%) are believers. We proclaim the gospel in word and deed through loving our neighbor, door-to-door evangelism, school outreaches, and any other opportunity God opens for us.

Discipling

We are committed to making disciples who make disciples. We disciple our community through one-on-one interactions, small groups, and worship gatherings. The majority of believers we work with are Buddhist background first-generation Christians. We have the privilege of bringing them to faith, leading them into truth and allegiance encounters, baptizing them and then helping them to grow in Christ and begin to share him with others.

Equipping

Matt and Amy seek to work together with the TAG to help train leaders in spiritual life, theological understanding and practical ministry skills in order for them to reach the harvest of Thailand. We believe Jesus is worthy of an offering of the Thai and we want to be a part of presenting Him with His inheritance from this province and all of Thailand.
