Thailand: At a Glance

Many Thai people believe “To be Thai is to be Buddhist”. To become a Christian in Thailand requires a fundamental shift in identity.

We walk alongside the Thailand Assemblies of God (TAG) in their endeavor to bring Christ’s name to their own people in order to help them put their faith in Jesus. Thailand is the most densely Buddhist nation on the earth with a large minority of Muslims. Evangelical Christians account for 0.6% of the population. Of the 80,000+ villages, neighborhoods and communities in Thailand, only 4% (3,500) are within access of a local church. This leaves over 77,000 communities untouched from the gospel and without any church. Over 70% of Thais do not have a church in their local community. This means the majority of Thais have no opportunity to hear the gospel in a way that makes sense to them.

As Assemblies of God World Missionaries in a region where there are only 25 churches in over 730 villages, our hearts burn to see Jesus proclaimed, disciples made, leaders equipped, and the church established in the villages that have not yet heard.
